I’ve loved making things for as long as I can remember. As a child, that usually meant cutting up my mum’s curtains to make beds for my dolls or turning my nan’s cereal boxes into miniature houses. I was endlessly creating, whether I was supposed to be or not.

That creativity was nurtured by my grandad; every weekend was an art project of some kind. I think that’s where it really rooted itself in me: the joy of building something from nothing.

Before opening The Inkpot, I worked in corporate. When I was laid off, it felt less like a setback and more like a nudge from the universe. The idea for The Inkpot had been quietly sitting in the back of my mind for years. Losing that job felt like permission to finally pursue it.

Taking the leap was humbling. You never know if the vision in your head will translate into something real, or how it will be received. But I’ve always believed we’re placed exactly where we need to be, and I was ready to build something that felt like mine.

Artistically, I’m drawn to portraiture and old-world, lino-cut inspired designs. History, architecture and classical forms influence much of what I create. Permanence isn’t something I take lightly, and I don’t expect my clients to either. Every piece is designed to feel intentional, original and tailored with the client firmly at the centre of the decision.

The Inkpot was never meant to be just a tattoo studio. It’s a home-away-from-home; warm, eclectic, layered with things old and new. Tattoos, coffee, curiosities, all passions of mine that felt natural together. I didn’t want to pigeonhole the space or the people who walk into it. Whether you’re here for ink, a drink, or simply a look around, you’re welcome.

Success, to me, isn’t just numbers. It’s someone leaving with a smile. It’s people feeling comfortable enough to open up. It’s building something that feels alive and shared.

And one day, perhaps by the coast;  I’d love to create more spaces like this.

But for now, Ross-on-Wye is home. And I’m incredibly grateful for it.

Thank you all for your amazing support
